In this beginner’s course, you will gain a solid understanding of how data is stored, processed, and accessed in relational databases (RDBMS).

To begin this course, you will be introduced to relational database concepts as well as several industry-standard relational databases, including MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Next, you will use RDBMS tools such as phpMyAdmin and pgAdmin, which are used by professionals to create and maintain relational databases. You will also use the command line and SQL statements to create and manage tables.

This course includes practical exercises that allow you to demonstrate your knowledge. You will work with real databases and examine real data sets. You will create database instances and populate them with tables and data.

At the end of this course, you will complete a final assignment in which you will apply the knowledge you have gained from this course and demonstrate that you are able to: design a database for a specific analysis requirement, normalize tables, create tables and views in the database create, load and access data.
